Hey, I'm Maija! I'm so happy you're here.
A Minnesota-based photographer documenting love stories near and far. I focus a lot of my work on differing perspectives. There will always be a place in my heart for those true, timeless smiling photos that will be in photo albums for years to come. But what comes before & after is just as important to help capture your story; maybe it’s the hug right after the photo is taken, or even a photo of the blue sky with fluffy clouds on the day you got married.

When I get asked about when I started photography, it’s a bit of a grey area… we always had a camera lying around the house and I sure put that thing to use. My friends and I would literally go into the middle of the road and strike some poses. Sorry mom and dad! I picked photography back up at the end of high school, and I found my passion in working with couples the past year or two. I think there is something so special in spending an hour or two with your partner, just focusing on each other, and seeing how it all plays out on camera.

When I’m not behind the camera (or computer lol), I am probably planning a new trip, doing hair, reading, watching a docuseries, hanging with my people, or doing something on a lake. Oh antique shopping too!!! As long as I can remember, I have wanted to travel. I even loved flying and being in the airport as a kid. I’m a believer that one of the best things that you can do for yourself is to meet new people in new places, and I feel so beyond grateful that photography has allowed me to do so!!!
